David Emmanuel Wilson (born June 15, 1991) is a retired American football running back. Wilson played college football for Virginia Tech. He was selected in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the New York Giants, 32nd overall. On August 4, 2014, Wilson was advised by the Giants' team doctor that he should no longer play football due to recurring injuries to the spine and neck. In a press release by the New York Giants, Wilson stated that he will "walk away from the game".
