Mr. Hamamoto has been one of our directors and our president and chief executive officer since October 2003. Mr. Hamamoto co-founded NorthStar Capital in July 1997, having co-founded and previously been a partner and co-head of the Real Estate Principal Investment Area at Goldman, Sachs & Co. In 1988, Mr. Hamamoto initiated the effort to build a real estate principal investment business at Goldman, Sachs & Co. under the auspices of the Whitehall Funds. Mr. Hamamoto currently serves as co-chairman of the board of directors and a co-chief executive officer of NorthStar Capital, and as chairman of the board of Morgans Hotel Group Co. Mr. Hamamoto received a B.S. from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
