I am one of those right-brained professionals that actually enjoy learning and applying marketing and business skills to Mental Health Practices. Most therapists would rather have a root canal than do marketing The idea of learning how to build followers on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and other social media can be frightening to many professionals. I actually like it...marketing that is, not root canals. Perhaps, I had to like it. After I published my first book "Love and Limits Achieving a Balance in Parenting" the publishing company merged with a bigger company and just as my book was hitting the stores shelves all marketing dried up. I had to go out and hustle, which I did. I learned to do presentations, develop an online membership site, write copy, write articles for magazines, and do radio and television interviews. The interesting thing was that I LOVED IT This led me to helping others market their products and services. I have helped many non-profits and individuals develop a following online and coached them on building their business. I have directed two mental health clinics over the course of years and written grants, networked, conducted presentations and overseen the entire course of fiscal, human resource and project management tasks. I have launched a career as a seminar speaker and traveled all over the United States speaking on Attachment, Trauma-Informed Care, Parenting, Social Work Best Practices, Anger Management, Art and Play Therapy and many more topics.
