Allison Argy-Burgess is an experienced cultural administrator who sits on the Grant MacEwan University's Arts & Cultural Administration Advisory Committee, and herself has twice been nominated for awards from the Mayors Evening for the Arts awards from the City of Edmonton. Allison has also won Volunteer of the Year awards from the City of St. Albert for her contributions to visual arts in that city. She is a professional visual artist who continues to exhibit locally and nationally and is a strong supporter and advocate for artists's rights through CARFAC National. Allison is also a partner and editor of the online magazines for Alberta visual artists and designers, Artrubicon and Designrubicon. Allison is a graduate of Grant MacEwan’s French program and has also studied at the Banff Centre for Management, University of Quebec, University of Waterloo and University of Victoria. She is believer in life-long learning and the value of travel, and has lead several international art history tours. Prior to joining the non-profit world 20 years ago, Allison worked in banking and finance.
