I am a recent Master of Arts graduate from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. For my masterâ€™s thesis, I studied social media, particularly how nonprofit and governmental organizations can employ Facebook to strengthen their relationships with their publics. Now that I have graduated, my dream is to move to Colorado, where I can work in nonprofit public relations during the week and spend my weekends exploring the Rocky Mountains. Partly to support myself and partly to gain experience, I have spent the last three years of my education doing internships in public relations. Most recently, I worked as the PR Assistant at the Athens-Clarke County Library. In my professional life, I am a â€œbig pictureâ€ kind of girl who is also determined to see that every detail of a plan falls into place. I enjoy writing for all media, as well as planning and implementing special events and programs. I am at my best when I can craft a strategic plan and see it through, step by step, to fruition. In my spare time, I love literature, sci-fi/fantasy, good music, the outdoors, good food, and traveling to new places. While I was in Athens, I added another hobby to my list: swing dancing.
