I currently work as a Business Partner to the Engineering Team with Insitu. Many of the skills I gained over past years of work directly transfer to my Business Partner role. Especially helpful were the years spent working in the court system; understanding basic legal terminology has helped with policy development and interpretation. Combining my academic with on the ground experience allows me to bring a mature response to all encountered challenges. I was able to quickly build professional and trust based relationships at every level of my organization. Within 6 months of hire, I completely developed a new Employee Handbook which has proven to be very user friendly. Additionally, among several policies, I developed the Drug and Alcohol Policy for Insitu. Finally, in cooperation with the CEO during my first year at Insitu, I successfully developed and deployed an Employee Recognition Program. I continue to grow my skills through participation with the Oregon State Council as the College Relations Liaison. I attend SHRM supported learning seminars, bringing back and presenting to my HR Team lessons learned. I successfully passed both the PHR and GPHR testing and am looking forward to eventually setting for the SPHR. I believe that human capital is an organization’s greatest asset and when proactively managed, will be a catalyst to organizational growth and prosperity. I look forward to hearing from you if you have thoughts to share.
