While the French were celebrating their independence on July 14 in 1982, a well-educated 28 year old Vietnamese immigrant was having her first child in Houston. Only minutes old, the child set a precedent for being difficult as he barely made it out of the womb with an umbilical cord wrapped around his neck. Born 6 pounds even, he was small, but quite adequate in all the ways a baby should be; ten fingers, ten toes, and what would become an "innie". His parents, becoming fast accustomed to the American life with their American house, American car and American careers deemed it only more than appropriate to name their American baby, Chris.  The rest is quite history. read more ...
