After working as a speech-language pathologist for 10 years, I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a focus on developmental cognitive neuroscience. My previous clinical experience has made me sensitive to the need for research that supports and extends current practice in the field. My long-term career goals include bridging the gap between neuroscience research and clinical practice. I am very interested in conducting research with clinical populations doing a combination of intervention studies, neuroimaging (including fMRI, DTI, and EEG), and learning more about the role of the brain in learning, language, reading and recovery of skills following brain trauma.
