Clarence L. Werner, 69, operated Werner Enterprises as a sole proprietorship from 1956 until its incorporation in September 1982. He has been a director of the Company since its incorporation and served as President until 1984. Since 1984, he has been Chairman of the Board, and he served as Chief Executive Officer of the Company from 1984 until February 8, 2007.
