David was born in Guelph, ON. and moved to Peterborough, ON in . He was awarded the deVries Family Scholarship for the Arts in . In , he graduated from the Art Institute of Toronto with an Advanced Diploma in Game Art and Design. He is currently pursuing a career as a professional artist.
