I do a lot of coaching, goal setting, investment management, and business consulting. My practice is somewhat unusual in that I work with individuals, companies, and also other financial practitioners. In the simplest terms I help people achieve financial goals. That means budgeting, goal setting, investing, and acting with intention. Below this seemingly simple exterior I work on the complexities and challenges. The unique aspect of my practice - beyond the personal relationships I form with clients - is the way I approach risk management. When it comes to investing, I build actively risk-managed investment portfolios for individuals, endowments, trusts, and business entities - and I help other financial advisors to do the same. The process relies heavily on math and statistics, focuses on avoiding major losses, and avoids the use of 'gut' or emotion as much as possible to produce a positive risk-adjusted investment return. Translation we try to generate profits while minimizing the risks we're willing to take and we do it by being willing to sell or scale back on the size of the investments we own as the market and economic conditions change. It's not a static process. It's dynamic. For my investment clients, I help with retirement planning, investing, goal setting, tax management, and a host of other financial services. The goal is to provide a single point of contact to manage the various moving financial points in your life. For other financial professionals, I do a lot of business, technology, and investment strategy consulting.
