EDUCATION: Degrees in Journalism from Notre Dame University in South Bend, and a five-year program in architecture at the University of Oregon, PRACTICE: Dennis practiced his profession in Portland, Oregon and Las Vegas, Nevada for the 30 years and now, Jacksonville, Florida. PROJECTS: Major church projects include eight new churches, four large remodeling and additions in Nevada and Idaho. (A list can be provided on request) SKILLS: Trained in theology of worship for many denominations, Dennis has developed a pattern of skills and experience well suited to church design. They include: • An Intimate understanding of Christ-centered worship as the springboard of church planning and design. • Emphasis on parish-community involvement through workshops in the design process, as a means of “consensus building. • Knowledge of scripture that can be used as a symbol source for design of elements of the building.. • Personal design service by the principal in the firm. That includes all building design, interior design, elements of worship, art work, engineering, including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, , lighting and acoustical (if required). An extensive team of liturgical artists are available. • A national Citation design award for Merit from IFRAA (AIA). • Computer-aided design, drafting and office management. • Expert in energy conservation. (Registered Energy Auditor in Oregon). • Guided by principles of Green and Sustainable product selection and design. • 16 years of Catholic education culminating in graduation from Notre Dame University at South Bend with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism . • 5-years teaching in Architecture Programs at Portland State University and University of Nevada-Las Vegas. • Registered Architect – Florida (active), and pending licenses in Nevada, Illinois, Idaho, and Oregon. • Certified member - National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. (NCARB).
