When he began working as a computer technician at a local ISP in high school, Derrick Richmond realized that technology would become a very important part of his life. After taking art classes and becoming more interested in art and design, he decided to advance his education by attending the University of North Carolina at Asheville. Here he majored in Multimedia, a major specifically geared towards the merging of his interests of art and technology. Derrick soon developed a passion for design after taking a variety of classes with the most influential professors one could ask for. Derrick relocated to Arizona and worked for a local newspaper where he put his degree to use. Fresh out of college, he adapted quickly to real life deadlines, building Client-Designer relationships, and multitasking in a hectic work environment. In Georgia, Derrick increased his experience, working as a creative director and helping start up a television station in Warner-Robins. As a graphic designer for the local Milledgeville newspaper, he thrived, producing unique print work and ads that spiced up the traditional publication. Derrick is currently working in a graphic design and client services position at a print shop in Brevard, NC. He continues to take on freelance work and spends his free time with his wife and cat in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
