I have been conducting home inspections on a full-time basis since 1993. Doing the best I can has always been behind all my efforts and for this job that means lots of continuing education. In fact, I earn about 50-60 hours per year. Much of it does not qualify for credit with the State of Illinois' minimalist requirements. I am a long time member of the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI). It's an organization that I believe to be the finest in our field. I am a member of two regional chapters of ASHI of which one I serve on the board of directors. On the national level of the Society I am on the Standards of Practice Committee and am a member of the Council of Representatives. I hold membership with the Indoor Air Quality Association which has furthered my knowledge of moisture and molds in the home environment and am licensed with Illinois as a Radon Measurement Technician. I also sub-contract out to Allan Environmental Services where I am involved with issues of air quality. Specialties Two areas of particular interest to me are ventilation and moisture intrusion. The knowledge that I have attained in these fields allow me to go beyond that which is expected in the general home inspection. read more ...
