In 2005, I decided to forgo a job opportunity in consumer M&A to pursue a more entrepreneurial endeavor. In July 2006, I launched Ivar®, a line of ergonomic and organizational backpacks built with a patented internal shelf system (a proprietary system providing users with maximum weight distribution and file-like organization). In a truly oversaturated category of near-identically working pack products, Ivar has stood out as an innovative, value-added product. Starting from square-one, literally, Ivar has evolved into a company with a product line sold into 125 retail doors, online, and in catalogs, throughout, the USA, Canada, and the Philippines. For some of Ivar's retail partners, Ivar is their number one selling pack. Previously, I was a marketing & financial analyst intern with eBags.com (2003), a financial intern with both Merrill Lynch & Co. (2002) and Smith Barney (2001), and a branding/packaging design pupil with my father's company, Ivarson (1992 through 2000). I was a high school All American in swimming (1998), swam NCAA Division 1 for the University of Denver Pioneers and was a member of the Academic All America Denver Pioneers Swim Team that was #1 in the country for team-average GPA (2002, 2003). Exercise is my passion, along with working hard and continually challenging myself.
