The impact of technology on writing, learning and teaching is a major interest of mine.A member of the faculty at a public university for more than 20 years, I mainly teach composition, research, rhetoric, and business communications. Other subjects I've taught include introductory linguistics, technical writing, and college reading and study strategies. Recently, I helped develop and teach a first-year experience course that aims to make students more skeptical consumers of the arguments they encounter online, on TV, and in print.I frequently teach online, and also manage a computer-equipped classroom.  Computer programming and web design are among my hobbies.
