He oversees sales, merchandising, marketing, and service units for electronics and computers. In size, NFM is a Top 50 consumer electronics (CE) retailer. During his 25 years at NFM, Buchanan has been instrumental in the growth of the electronics division from a 5,000 square-foot department to its present 102,000 square-feet, located on the store’s 77-acre complex. NFM opened its’ second retail location in Kansas City, KS in the fall of 2003. This 1,200,000 square-foot retail store is located on an 80-acre retail destination selling appliances, electronics, computers, software and home furnishings. He earned his Masters in Business Administration from Bellevue University with a double concentration is Marketing and Management/ Decision Sciences. Jay earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration of Technical Studies from Bellevue University’s College of Professional Studies, graduating summa cum laude. Additionally, Jay attended Iowa State University’s College of Engineering for Mechanical Engineering. He is active in Boy Scouts of America and the leadership of his church. Buchanan enjoys numerous outdoor activities including running, climbing and golf. Buchanan and his wife, Lori, are parents of two children ages 18 and 16.
