Jaymee Carpenter is a 34 year old multi-instrumentalist film & television composer, music supervisor, songwriter, and record producer based in Los Angeles. He began this career in 2003 composing for APM’s cue libraries, specifically writing for their Romantic Comedy library Siren Cues, which to this day is not only APM’s most successful library of all time, but an industry standard to reference. Jaymee quickly built a name for himself as a ‘go to guy’ for his signature brand of quirky pop music. 2007 he was commissioned by Corner Stone Cues to write and produce a full album of his original music at Sir George Martin’s Air Studios London, where Jaymee worked with the Grammy Award winning engineers of The Beatles ‘Love’ album and the world famous 52 piece London Studio Orchestra. The result was an album titled The Holliston Stops 'Lyndhurst Rd' (released in late 2007 on Nettwerk Records). ‘Lyndhurst Rd.’ went on to license hundreds of thousands in revenue worldwide. In 2009, Jaymee was brought on to breathe new musical life into some of the Bravo Network’s most successful reality shows Top Chef & Real Housewives, as well as 2 new shows they debuted that year, Kell On Earth & Work Of Art. Throughout the course of working on these projects, now having spent years being exposed precisely to what music supervisors, editors and directors look for in their film and television placements, Jaymee took time away from scoring reality television in 2010 and began concentrating all of his efforts developing a potent and diverse library of his own (JCP) with other dynamic songwriters and artists who exude only the highest potential for licensing in film and television. While building this library, Jaymee was sought out to write 2 pieces of original music for Paramount Pictures feature The Fighter, a blockbuster film that went on to win multiple Oscars and high critical acclaim. By the time Jaymee was asked to write his first full length original score for a feature documentary called Crime After Crime, he was additionally hired to be the films’ Music Supervisor based on the strength of the JCP library. Jaymee used artist’s exclusively from JCP in comprising Crime After Crime’s soundtrack. In 2011, Crime After Crime was an Official Selection of the Sundance Film Festival in the US Documentary category, was immediately acquired by the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), has been winning awards at every major film festival in the US (including a Grand Performances premier at the LA Film Festival) and will have theatrical release in July 2011 with major Oscar nomination buzz already brimming. Jaymee continues to work as both Composer and Music Supervisor for film and television projects.
