I am a chef, world traveler, writer, photographer, and teacher. I am originally from Hong Kong but have lived all over the world. My background in a nutshell Born in Hong Kong and immigrated to Canada as a child. Moved back to Hong Kong for a year and left home at the age of to return to Canada, where I felt more at home. Started boarding school in England because I felt like a new challenge. After a few years of frustration with the British school system, I decided to finish up High School in New York. Upon graduation, I moved to New Orleans and studied literature and history. I also spent a year in Paris studying art and French. Since then I have lived and worked in Zambia, New York, Japan, China, and Hong Kong. I am fluent in French, Mandarin, Cantonese, English, and have a basic command of Spanish and Japanese. As you can tell, I get a thrill out of learning as well as experiencing everything a new environment has to offer. Ive had a variety of jobs, from writing for expat magazines, teaching sailing and marine science, cooking gardening and housekeeping at an ashram, teaching arts and crafts in the occupational therapy ward, lifeguarding, teaching creative writing, teaching yoga, working in audit for a major financial institution, interning at a law firm, bartending, teaching ESL, to teaching at a school for orphans. You name it, Ive probably done it or hope to do it at some point I guess you could call me an experience junkie One of my passions in life is backpacking. Most of my work is inspired from my trips.
