Jennifer M. Dick

Female, 40 years old

If you cut me, I might just bleed coffee. I never used to drink coffee...not until I student taught, that is. Maybe I'm just making up for lost time. Anyhow, it keeps me ticking after I've taken a licking.

Traveling is a big part of my life right now. It's strange...teaching takes you to places in life and experience that you sort of know to expect but can't imagine until it happens. ...But lately, it's also giving me actual travel. To places, even.

I'm not a New York kind of girl. But Boston was amazing. Definitely want to get back there, possibly for my ph.D, which I'm seriously considering. Depends on whether or not I can abandon my kids with a clear conscience. Also depends on my GRE score. ;) Miami was unbelievably humid and some of the most amusing people-watching I've ever seen.

My friends keep me in the loop and sane by helping to remind me that I am more than just a teacher, that I was a whole, unique, individual, moderately interesting person before I began this consuming career. I love them and wouldn't be able to maintain my sanity without them.

I'm pretty sure that life is a meaningless, existential hell, but I'm also pretty sure that I'm okay with that.
