I want to understand the ways that people use technology to improve their lives and their communities. The research center where I work (Technology & Social Change Group @ UW) studies the impact of technology access and use in disadvantaged communities around the world. I'm interested in storylines that feature livelihoods, libraries, social networks, civil society, youth and methodological boundaries. Currently, I am working on projects that examines technology use in the Egyptian uprisings and among East African refugees living in Seattle. I also am busy with information design and communication systems for the Technology & Social Change group.
