Successful career in Information Systems for 30+ years. Joined the US Navy as an Operations Specialist Feb 1981 with the duties of a computer operator responsible  for gathering, processing, and displaying, evaluating and disseminating information. I retired from the Navy as a Chief Operations Specialist with my last two assignments being:Supervisor/Manager - Managed 20-person team in tactical environment. Instructor/ Course Manager teaching radar navigation and technical math in both the classroom and laboratory environments. During my time in the Navy I started building personal computers and learning DOS as a hobby. In preparation for retirement I attended Southern Illinois University and achieved a BS degree in Workforce Education. I also took 4 of the MSCE classes at Old Dominion University ITPro. After my navy career I worked for Pariser Dermatology as their Lead Systems Engineer and IT Advisor for almost 3 years. While at Pariser I continued my education in IT and achieved an Associates of Applied Science degree in Information Technology from Tidewater Community College concentrating on computer programming.Pariser Dermatology was excellent opportunity that led to my current job as a Senior C2 Systems Engineer/Information Assurance Officer in support of Joint Forces Command (JFHQ) at Joint Systems Integration Command (JSIC). Basically, I’ve come full circle from C2 systems operator to building and maintaining C2 systems. Additionally, prior to JSIC I served as a Systems Engineer for JFHQ assigned J9 Joint Experimentation (JE) tasked with the conceptual development and experimentation of the Pre-Conflict Management Tool suite (PCMT) with the objective to identify policies and actions that could preclude the likelihood of conflicts through the use of social vulnerability models, a data repository, and a collaborative information environment (CIE).I continued my education to complet a Masters of Science degree  in Systems Management and Information Systems from Florida Institute of Technology while employed with JFHQ. In my study of systems I have found that the simplest systems are the easiest to duplicate and the most successful. read more ...
