Develops policy for the National Park Service Volunteers-In-Parks program and provides support to the regional offices and parks in matters relating to the VIP program. Currently serves on the Federal Interagency Team on Volunteerism, and participates in other interagency efforts such as Conservation USA and Take Pride in America. The Servicewide Volunteer Program Coordinator is responsible for maintaining an updated volunteer management training curriculum, conducting training, maintaining a national volunteer recognition program, providing the field with support and supplies, and reporting annual VIP statistics to the Director of the National Park Service.
