I have been an attorney since 1999 and have represented individuals, small businesses, and some of the largest companies in the world. My broad legal experience has sharpened my legal skills so that I can represent all types of clients as an the owner of The Roy Law Firm, PLLC. During my first year practicing law, I worked in-house for a large, well-known insurance company where I was in charge of my own docket and handled a number of different types of cases. My work included sitting first chair for five jury trials in district court and another six cases in Justice of the Peace courts. This was valuable experience and allowed me to grow in the court room quickly. In addition, my first job sharpened my skills with regard to writing motions and briefs, attending depositions and hearings, and propounding and answering written discovery. From 2001 to 2009, I was an associate for a prominent civil litigation firm located in Dallas. This job provided me an opportunity to handle high stakes cases in the areas of personal injury, mass torts, products liability, and premises liability. I handled cases from the beginning of discovery through trial. I developed the skills necessary to handle cases through all phases of litigation and manage a large docket. I have taken almost a thousand depositions in my career and have handled many hearings involving many different issues. As an example, I have written and argued numerous briefs involving issues related to discovery, summary judgments, fact and expert witnesses, directed verdicts, limines, and jury charges. The Roy Law Firm, PLLC handles civil litigation matters for individuals and their businesses. In addition to civil litigation, my firm is active in the areas of family law, estate planning, bankruptcy, and probate.
