Recruiting is an ART not many possess. There are many recruiters who make claims of being the best, but when it comes to performance and knowledge they lack the skills necessary to draw qualified candidates. Anyone can go on a job board, pull resumes, do a phone screen, and pass them up to a manager, but it takes someone skilledl to research the market place identify the candidate, supplydemand factors, develop a compensation strategy, and define the real job needs....at this point the recruiter is just getting started. After all the information is gathered (there's more to it than what I mentioned above) and a foundation is laid for the recruiter, its now time for them to put their skills and experience to the test. Finding candidates for the position is not as easy as it sounds. Passive candidates are a sure bet in finding someone happy, stable and not really looking for a new role. Selling a passive candidate requires more than just salary, benefits, and job description. They want career moves Name, rank, and serial numbers are a thing of the past. Todays candidates want to hear about what a new role within your company will do for them. How will this new role in your company satisfy their need to learn, stay successful, and challenge their current skills Lateral moves are not in their portfolio. The key to having a successful recruiting department is to make sure recruiters are looking for and building their passive candidate pipelines and building rapports.
