I have always been fascinated with creating things and coming up with new ideas to explore. These fascinations led to me first pursue mechanical engineering, and then software engineering. I recently joined Backcountry.com as a Front End Engineer on the Community team. I am working with Backbone.js, jQuery UI, Saas, Compass, ATG, and Java Server Pages on a daily basis to build products related to user interactions on Backcountry.com. It is exciting to be a part of a team that is constantly developing ways for our users to connect with each other, and with our athletes and gearheads. While working for an luxury ski vacation website, I saw a need for a niche, online restaurant guide to mountain towns. A short time later, I started my own company called Ski Town Restaurants. Starting my own business allowed me to learn new skills surrounding marketing, accounting, sales, web development and search engine optimization. I graduated from the most intense coding school San Francisco has to offer, called Hack Reactor. While there, I learned in-depth JavaScript concepts, computer science, algorithms, data structures, and programming design patterns.
