I hope to leave a major impact on the world in some form or another. The way I intend do this isn't quite clear yet, but, I do know it will probably have something to do with the internet and creating something that people will eventually take for granted--something so ubiquitous and useful that it would be hard for people to not use once they have tried it. I believe that the future of computing will and must be mobile. I will not want to sit at my computer in order to get something done. I want to create something that will allow people to seamlessly integrate computers into their everyday lives. Specialties Being a web developer, I think it should go without saying that I'm a master at HTML(x) and CSS(). I'm well-versed in the idiosyncrasies of each browser, with how they perform, and with how they render elements. I've taken advantage of the new semantic tags in HTML and have build my own HTML video player just for the fun of it. I'm currently learning that whole "canvas" thing. Ugghh... I'm an expert PHP programmer with over years of experience coding everything from simple webpages, to corporate portals, to shopping carts. I'm an active contributor to the CodeIgniter project (which I'm very proud to admit) and have a can-do "anything is possible" attitude about programming. I'm also very fluent in JavaScript--especially with the jQuery framework. I've dabbled-in and developed a few highly-asynchronous apps in NodeJS (which I currently LOVE) and am looking forward to what becomes of that system in general--I honestly think it's where the web is heading. To go along with my back-end programming, I had to become an expert database designer and query-writer. I'm well-versed in MySQL, MSSQL, SQL Lite, Postgres, and Oracle database systems as well as a few of the NoSQL DBs like Mongo and Redis. ---- In my "spare time" (what's that), my wife and I capture beautiful things with our cameras. We love capturing love. read more ...
