He is the Chairman of the Business Advisory Council to the Commission on Higher Education, Co-Chair of the Governor’s Teacher Quality Committee and Member of the Education Oversight Committee. Mr. Wilson is also the Chairman of the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts Board of Trustees and Board Member as well as the President of the USC Education Foundation. Active in civic affairs, he is currently serving on the Governor’s Technology Transition Team. Mr. Wilson was named one of the top three Chief Executive Officers in the computer software and services industry five times by The Wall Street Transcript. He also received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from USC’s College of Business Administration and the Yale University Cultural Achievement Award. Mr. Wilson is engaged in many leadership activities at the local, regional, and statewide levels. He is a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and has a Certificate in Data Processing (CDP). Mr. Wilson holds an M.B.A. from University of South Carolina in 1970 and a B.S. in Marketing in 1969 from the University of South Carolina.
