I have more than years of experience in IT management and more than years of experience in journalism. My four key strengths are synthesis, research, writing, and accountability. SYNTHESIS I am the liaison between subject matter experts and the curious. I take complex technical ideas and put them in terms that everyone can understand. I do this by considering my audience first, highlighting patterns, and providing appropriate contexts. RESEARCH Before I begin writing or working on anything, I make sure I have at least a basic understanding of the question or problem to better inform my interviews with subject matter experts. My skills with academic research tools and relational databases aid my cross-disciplinary research approach. WRITING IT and Journalism don't have very much in common, but they do require excellent communicators to spread their ideas. I'm at my best when I'm writing, whether that be reports, newsletters, presentations, specifications, or educational material. ACCOUNTABILITY I have a great deal of pride in what I do. I strive to learn and grow from all of my experiences. I want to ensure my work is useful and meaningful to my readers and peers. I'm always open to criticism, because it only strengthens my work.
