My career path began as an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I pursued a degree in Agricultural Education (oddly enough, I did not grow up on a farm) that eventually led to a bachelor's degree in Zoology. After spending a few years with WI DNR in the streams of southern Wisconsin trudging through muck, silt, and sand in a pair of hip waders, I went to graduate school at the UW to study Geographic Information Systems. For the past six years I have focused on environmental resource management, land use policy, and conservation easements at the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection in the Bureau of Land and Water Resources. I now work as an Agency Liaison with private and public sector partners to support and promote the necessity of conservation programs and agriculture in Wisconsin. I devote much of my free time to administration of an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, Wisconsin Women in Government, which encourages leadership and provides scholarships to female students and women pursuing careers in government or public service. As a hard-working, personable government employee, I take pride in implementing environmental and land use policy and communicating my knowledge with citizens. Building relationships, staying organized, and managing time efficiently allow me to excel in a field I love.
