Lori is currently attending classes at the University of Roehampton to attain a Master's degree in Dance Anthropology. She previously worked as a freelance writer who specialized in travel. Her work includes publication in WestJet's up magazine, Reader's Digest, Western Living, FLARE, VIA destinations, USAToday.com, Spa Magazine, West, British Columbia Magazine, VIA magazine (an AAA publication) Gateways (Carnival Cruise Lines), among many others. She was also the Editor of Massage Matters magazine. Her latest book is Dancing Through History In Search of the Stories that Define Canada. Guidebook work includes Vancouver Explorer The Complete Residents Guide by Explorer Publishing, Best Places Northwest by Sasquatch Books, and Fodor's Nova Scotia Atlantic Canada. In her other life, she has been in the spotlight since beginning to dance at the age of two. She led her Polynesian dance group to various shows, including Expo and South Pacific, before widening her training to include tap, jazz, ballet, modern, contemporary and hip hop. Not content on the stage, she moved from her hometown of Port Coquitlam to study in the big city of Vancouver, Canada, where she decided to train as an actor at Gastown Actors Studio's full time theatre program. She has performed with Kalaya Dancers and The Outriggers Polynesia. Lori was also the Editor of Beauty You Define It magazine, an alternative youth publication that dealt with questioning mainstream beauty standards and our cultures fixation on outward appearance. She is also a published poet, her full-length book, Silent Screams (Second Edition, ), has toured high schools and youth groups in the Lower Mainland. Along with writing and acting, Lori does advocacy work for eating disorder awareness charities. She sat on the advisory committee of Jessies Hope Society (formerly ANAD, was a Director of the You Are Not Alone Eating Disorder Society and was Founding Director of Shellleys Angels Society. read more ...
