Interesting fact: I am now a \"Bionic Woman,\" having had a metal hip resurfacing in Sept. \'07. This is the way to go if your hip wears out; check to see if you\'re a candidate. Total Hip Replacement removes the top of your femur and a long spike is placed down your leg. You wind up with limited range of motion. Resurfacing (smoothing the joint parts and lining with metal) gives a natural result. I have 2 \"normal\" hips now, doing everything I did before arthritis hit me.
