A passionate editor deeply committed to carrying out the vision of the producerdirector while offering suggestions and expertise along the way. Michael is interested in editing films that examine social and environmental issues, but also comedy and slice of life pieces as well. Has cut documentaries, short narratives, promotional videos, and foreign language on Avid and Final Cut. Worked as a colorist and sound editormixer on Da Vinci Resolve and Pro Tools. Proficient in After Affects and Photoshop. Beyond editing, has worked on the set as a DIT with the RED ONE KK and RED-EPIC K cameras using Red-Cine X to apply LUTS for the DP. Michael has also worked as a Lead Assistant Editor for television production. As an assistant he's developed new workflows and has experience assisting the entire post process from capture to offlineconformonline to final delivery. Has worked with all tape formats including HDCAM-SR for capture and layoff and LTO for archiving. Experienced with encoding Dolby . for both tape and disc, compressing media to a wide range of formats, timing VOs, stringing out A-Roll, exporting EDLs, and managing Avid ISIS. In addition, has tutored editing students at the Academy of Art University and is always interested in providing valuable training to anyone who wants to learn more about post production.
