I am currently working in higher education, as a faculty member at Appalachian State University. My research focuses on D immersive environments for education, and on mobile learning. Examples include a project to increase spatial understanding of fundamental groundwater concepts for students and teachers, through the development and implementation of a place-based learning games. I am also involved in studying social interaction and cross-cultural communication differences within text-based and immersive D distance learning modalities.
