Rick Dashiell is a native of Dorchester who, despite popular belief and lack of an accent, actually grew up in Boston. After high school, he left Beantown for the bright lights and big times of Chicago and the University of Chicago. He studied a lot of English and read a bunch of Literature, had great conversations about the ancient Greeks and Romans and even picked up some French during his time in college. Upon his graduation in , Rick tried his hand at various jobs that had nothing to do with his areas of study for three years including real estate and working for CareerBuilder.com. In , he returned to Boston claiming to be focused on "writing and reporting sports." Boston University believed him and trained him to the level of "Master," which he achieved in .
