I have spent the last year as a Group Manager in the sales operations department of American Hotel Register Company, the largest distributor of operational products to the hotel industry. As an operations manager I am primarily responsible for a team of individuals who run the sales operations for five major hotels chains as well as our business to non-hospitality markets. I also get to be involved in building operational infrastructure that has a direct impact on winning new business and optimizing the management of existing business. It has been exciting to help a family run catalog company turn into a leading ecommerce company. I have seen first had what it takes to keep up with significant growth and how to make hard decisions when business slows down.
