I'm a Web Generalist I design, and I develop (usually at the same time). When I'm not doing that, I'm usually creating content to put into the apps and sites I'm making (I write and I draw and I photo too). I prefer open platforms over walled gardens and native lockdown and I think responsiveness and user experience should always be top priorities. I'm a Creative I think aesthetics are the polish that makes an interface a pleasure to use, and as Aristotle said, "pleasure in the job puts perfection in the work." But creativity is more than the surface it enhances problem solving and design in general. I try not to get hung up on specificity so that I can get a broad view over the horizon of all the possibilities. That way I can usually find and choose the best solution for the problem at hand. I'm a Developer When a solution has been found and decided upon, I can roll up my sleeves and get my hands dirty too. When I finish coding a system and finally put it to real use, hitting the Enter key, running the program, and watching as the computer processes thousands of tasks per second, I get a warm feeling inside knowing that hundreds of hours of work just got taken off my client's plate ) I'm an Organizer Solving problems, thinking in abstraction, and connecting the dots are the types of activities I enjoy most. I love organizing things that seem too complex into things that seem easy enough to use visual design and hierarchies, filesystem folder structures, URI paths, database columns, application menu structures, file naming conventions, variable and class naming (and formatting), and anything else that isn't easy to understand and which impedes progress. I'm an Optimizer I'm also very good at web optimizations (speed, usability, testing, SEO, etc.) I can make a web app, equally client and server heavy, with complicated CSS, semantic clean markup, and a bunch of bitmaps and optimize that down to a few hundred milliseconds of load time. Specialties Problem solving if you, or I, your business partner, or your dog don't know how to do something, I can usually help figure it out. I'm highly adaptable that way.
