Mr. Shaich is a co-founder of our company and has served as a director since 1981. Mr. Shaich has also served as Chairman of the Board since May 1999 and as our Chief Executive Officer since May 1997. Mr. Shaich previously served as Co-Chairman of the Board from January 1988 to May 1999 and as Co-Chief Executive Officer from January 1988 to May 1994. Mr. Shaich serves as a director of the non-profit Lown Cardiovascular Research Foundation.
