Sarah E. Murphy is a lawyer with the immigration law firm of Serotte, Reich & Wilson, LLP (“SRW”) in Buffalo, New York. Ms. Murphy focuses her practice in the following areas: · Border representation · Defense in Immigration Court · Appellate practice · Family-based immigration services · Waivers of inadmissibility · Naturalization Prior to joining SRW in December 2007, Ms. Murphy worked as a legal intern for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security with both U.S. Customs and Border Protection as well as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Ms. Murphy earned her law degree from the University at Buffalo. She possesses a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice from the State University of New York College at Brockport. While an undergraduate student, Ms. Murphy worked as an intern for New Scotland Yard in London, England and also worked as an undergraduate intern for the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office. Ms. Murphy is admitted to practice law in the State of New York. Immigration law is a federal practice, however, which allows her to represent clients across the country and around the world. In addition to maintaining this blog, Ms. Murphy has also co-authored "Inadmissible Canadians: Nonimmigrant Waivers and Border Issues" for the American Immigration Lawyers Association's The Waivers Book: Advanced Issues in Immigration Law Practice.
