Using my information design and graphic design skills, I craft raw information into a story that helps my colleagues, clients, or the general public make informed decisions. I am also skilled at leading a team to craft complex data and information into a story that groups need – and are waiting – to hear. I was the Senior Cartographer / GIS Coordinator for an engineering and architectural firm headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. My role was to process complex data into visually accessible and aesthetically pleasing maps and graphics for public involvement campaigns as well as other reports and documents. In my tenure in this company’s transportation division I have had a variety of duties moving from the creation of simple maps to the management of the GIS / Cartography Group in their roles in multiple concurrent projects. My group created diverse products ranging from highly technical engineering level mapping as well as artistic highway renderings for public involvement meetings.
