My journalism career began with a freelance position at the Portsmouth Daily Times in 1985. This led to full time work with the Community Common and later with the Times. After a couple of years, my duties changed from reporter/photographer to photographer/reporter. I became a photographer and darkroom technician for Jonâ€™s Photos shortly before my auto accident, which left me unable to resume my photography. I taught myself computers. Soon after that I began working as a freelance web design/maintenance professional. Some of my clients included the City of Portsmouth, Ohio, the county government of Scioto County, Jon's Photos, Gerlach and Gerlach, Attorneys-at-law, Gerlach for mayor, Leading Lady, Jon's Photos, Scioto Water and a few other sites. For fun, I had Planet Jendell - a fan site dedicated to Ace Frehley of Kiss. It was the only Ace-related site accepted by and linked to the official Kiss website. In 1996, I began writing legal briefs, letters and website content for a Portsmouth-area attorney. I also conducted research and managed the computer network. Advanced Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome/Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome I prevented me from returning to work. Now disabled and mostly homebound, Iâ€™m a freelance writer via the Internet. I have a relatively free schedule but there are some days Iâ€™m unable to work. Since 2009, Iâ€™ve worked for Textbroker, Demand Media Studios (Livestrong & eHow), Bay Marketing and HalogenTV. I also publish on HubPages and my blog. I wrote one article for Life123 before it closed. Iâ€™m eager to find well-paying positions with broad topics. I've been widowed since April 8, 2011.
