My work as a music theorist involves analyzing Western classical and popular music from a wide variety of repertoiresfrom the sixteenth through the twentieth centuriesand interpreting the analyses from a number of methodological perspectives (both historical and theoretical). I'm currently a PhD candidate in the music theory program at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, where I am writing a dissertation on aspects of recapitulation in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century sonata form works. I have presented at national and international academic conferences on a variety of topics related to music theory and analysis, including analyzing the music of Tomas Luis de Victoria, Alexander Glazunov, and Arnold Schoenberg and pedagogical aspects of Schenkerian theory. In , I was also invited to present a pre-concert lecture for the Reading Symphony Orchestra (Reading, PA). In September , I will be presenting at the European Music Analysis Conference (EuroMAC) in Leuven, Belgium, as part of a panel session on the Formenlehre of Heinrich Schenker. I have several book reviews published and forthcoming in Music Research Forum, Notes The Quarterly Journal of the Music Library Association, and Indiana Theory Review. As an instructor, I have taught all core music theory and aural skills classes to undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Cincinnati from as part of my graduate assistantship.
