Tony Roy owns Virtual Fellow Consulting, where he helps clients develop online fundraising and digital campaign strategies. Over the past decade he has worked with and advised some of Canada and British Columbia's foremost political, academic and not-for-profit leaders. At Simon Fraser University, Tony has helped University Advancement increase online fundraising revenue by 139% year-over-year, and is contributing to important new social media strategies. Last year, Tony recruited and led an innovative team of over fifty digital activists as Chair of Premier Christy Clark's online campaign during her successful leadership run. Tony holds a Masters of Arts degree (M.A.) in Leadership from Royal Roads University where his thesis examined the integration of the internet and social media into traditional communications and fundraising campaigns. As former Director of Advancement and External Affairs for the Beedie School of Business, Mr. Roy used that research to spearhead the implementation of a new alumni engagement and annual giving strategy called The Dean's Circle. Prior to academia, Mr. Roy had a long career as a senior political aide at both the federal and provincial levels. Nationally, he was the chief British Columbia advisor to two Leaders of the Opposition and advised the Minister of Canadian Heritage and Minister of the Environment. In British Columbia he spent four years as an aide to then Deputy Premier Christy Clark. Today, Tony lives in Coquitlam where he is a volunteer Director on the board of SHARE Family & Community Services Society and the 43 Housing Society. He is married to Ann Wicks, and has two daughters: Aberdeen and Victoria. Specialties read more ...
