Juan Patiño - Grammy-nominated, Multi-Platinum Record Producer / Mixer / Ad Music Composer / Singer / International Man of Leisure - is a medicine man who’s been offering potent remedies to clients for the last 15 years. First heard on-air as the main composer for Comedy Central during its launch year, Patiño coughed up a slew of :30 second scores for the network’s cutting-edge Image Campaigns. HBO, Lifetime, ESPN, Showtime and Cinemax followed soon thereafter forming a parade of Patiño’s :30 second spots across the TV dial. In addition to Composing Music for Television, Patiño pursued his first love of producing new artists from the downtown music scene. One such artist was a then undiscovered talent by the name of Lisa Loeb. For their first collaboration, Patiño produced and engineered the song “STAY†which director Ben Stiller then featured as the end credits theme for his hit film, Reality Bites starring Ethan Hawke. The tune smashed through at #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 Chart, a Grammy nomination followed and the million-selling song spawned an unprecedented recording contract with Geffen Records. Patiño was hailed the #4 Record Producer of '94 by BILLBOARD and was subsequently tapped by Geffen Records to produce TAILS, Loeb's platinum debut album. The worldwide success of TAILS brought Patiño to the attention of Atlantic Records who had him produce “You Were Meant for Me†for JEWEL. Over the next decade, Patiño and Loeb collaborated in his NYC recording studio amassing (6) radio singles plus a follow-up GOLD Record entitled Firecracker. Having co-written “Let's Forget About It,†the 2nd Hot 100 single from that album, Patiño received his own Grammy nomination for BEST ENGINEERING. In addition to the Reality Bites movie soundtrack, his productions can also be heard in films like Spielberg's TWISTER and the soundtrack to FRIENDS.
