I practice intellectual property law with an emphasis on patent prosecution and opinion work. I advise clients regarding patent filing strategy, clearance searching, patentability searching, validity analysis, and infringement analysis. My practice is concentrated in the areas of biotechnology (therapeutics, agricultural, and diagnostics), chemistry (small molecules, polymers, and formulations), and medical devices. My practice also includes international work. This work involves advising and amending incoming applications to comport with US patent law and to prosecute these applications to grant. I also work with patent attorneys in other countries to obtain patents in those specific countries for my clients. I now also advise clients regarding biosimilars in addition to speaking and writing on the subject. I have presented on biosimilars to the MSBA's Food Drug Section (Feb. ), MIPLA (Oct. , ), at The Canadian Institute's th Annual Forum on Pharma Patents in Toronto (Nov. , ) and at an international conference on biosimilars (Sept. ) and commented on biosimilars as a participant at the U.S.-Israel biotechnology business roundtable at BIO sponsored by the U.S.-Israel Science and Technology Foundation (May ). Specialties I have prosecuted patents and worked on opinions regarding stem cells, therapeutic peptides, humanized antibodies, small molecule pharmaceuticals and therapeutic uses, pharmaceutical delivery systems, antimicrobials, diagnostic and immuno-assays, phage display systems, microarrays, transgenic animals, transgenic plants, nanobiotechnology, medical devices, medical device coatings, and formulation chemistry.
