As a Linux System Administrator and Instructor, I've come to a point in my life where it's very important to me to share the knowledge I've gained and help others succeed. As a Red Hat Certified Instructor and Examiner, I enjoy sharing the knowledge I have gained over the past 5 years teaching and administrating systems. It's my passion to make the best operating system better by providing a valuable education to all who I teach. I currently am an Instructor for Basic to Advanced Linux Administration and LAMP Stack, a Systems administrator for Red Hat/Fedora and Ubuntu. My development skills are strong in Python, Ruby and Bash, along with some good experience with C/C++ and Java. As part of my recent employment, I built and maintained a complete configuration management system using puppet, cobbler, which included source control management systems, git and svn. I also spent a good bit of time on documentation and providing instruction to other administrators. I am always looking for opportunities focused in free and open source I work on several projects, including the Utah Open Source Foundation and Conference (http://www.utosc.com), I am also a Fedora Ambassador (http://fedoraproject.org). I also enjoy dabbling in audio and video recording with free software. My current open source project, PyCamps, (http://github.com/herlo/PyCamps) involves helping developers manage their projects in a contained and easy-to-manage way. I regularly contribute presentations to Local User Groups. I've presented on topics that range from system administration to more personally interesting topics of open source growth in business and communities. My experience as an Linux instructor allows me to present on a wide range of topics on short notice. I love to tinker, and have built a quite few packages with rpm and now maintain a few within the Fedora Project. I've also built several smaller personal rpms. Bash scripting and configuration management are among my technical passions.
