Graduate of Ohio State; began career as news reporter for The Associated Press. Then, switched to public relations at Ohio State; Clarke College (IA) and Albion College (MI). Then, moved to associations as PR director of the American Soybean Association. Founded Drake & Company --an accredited association management company -- in 1992; Sold it to AMR Management Services in 2011. AMCs serve as staff and headquarters for nonprofit organizations. Now own SCD Group Inc. Am focused on consulting (governance, strategic intent, communications audits); public speaking (generational issues, content marketing, cause marketing); and writing (blogging) on association trends and cause marketing. I love finding ways to help our clients meet their visions ... finding new ideas to build them.
