I thrive on learning and being challenged. I have extensive technical background in mobile application development, specifically high-volume native iOS applications. My team and I release updates at industry-leading velocity while maintaining a best-of-class iOS native application. As an engineering manager at Twitter, I help coordinate the work of upwards of contributors in order to ensure Twitter for iOS stays one of the most stable mobile applications on the planet, while also allowing Twitter to move quickly to deliver meaningful value to our users. To keep Twitter a top-tier tech company, I am a Twitter University instructor, a program which provides the hundreds of developers across the company with training in the technologies relevant to Twitter engineers. In my spare time, I blog about technology (httpcozykozy.com), podcast about iOS mobile development (httpiohyespodcast.com), and I play music (httpwww.songsforanewyear.com). I tweet about all of it as @jak (httptwitter.comjak) Though I am currently focused on mobile engineering, I am a polyglot product engineer by nature, and am comfortable in client web, native desktop, and native mobile engineering, including iOS, Javascript, Ruby (Rails Sinatra), Java, etc.

I'm a father of 2, motivated for success through life's up and downs. You have to take the good with the bad, put all the blame for both on yourself, and get better everyday. I believe everyone deserves a fair chance to know the truth, so they can steer their friends, families and loved ones in the right direction, with the facts at hand, and not the fiction on TV.
