Since the start of her career, Mary York has garnered extraordinary results for her clients, resulting in outstanding client retention, contract renewals, and sales leads. York’s efforts have contributed to more than $5.7 million in media coverage since 2006. York joined the William Mills Agency with a background in public relations and marketing. Leveraging her expertise in communication and her knowledge of the financial industry, York has managed public relations efforts for some of the agency’s largest clients and leads efforts in the insurance and retail industries for clients expanding their target markets As part of the agency’s Crisis Communication team, York has experience with external and internal communications, having worked with national media including CNN. She is currently part of the agency’s Social Media Committee and possesses knowledge on integrating tools such as social networking sites and blogs into communication strategies. York is also a current member of the Internship Committee to recruit talented professionals, and served on the Bank Administration Institute Retail Delivery Committee in 2008 and 2009 to develop promotional materials for clients. Not only does she have a keen understanding of financial technology, York holds excellent relationships with key editors of publications, enabling her to successfully secure hundreds of media placements in industry trade publications. She has also secured numerous placements in a variety of consumer publications, including bi-weekly columns in state and city papers. Additionally, York worked with Microsoft’s public relations team in 2008 where she held regular brainstorm sessions to generate ideas to promote one of its products. York earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Ga. where she served as editor for the award-winning newspaper, The Sentinel.
