An educational fundraising strategist with specialization in e-marketing and online media, I have more than eight years of experience in new media, print journalism, public relations, and website management, as well as more than four years of experience in educational fundraising, alumni networking, and program and event planning. Since January 2011, I have been the online giving manager at Boston University Development & Alumni Relations (DAR), where I provide strategic management and tactical execution of BU's online giving program. With a comprehensive strategy that uses email, web, and social media communication vehicles, BU experienced a 4% increase in dollars raised online and a 29% increase in online donors from the 2010 to 2011 fiscal years, and is poised to make further gains in FY12. Prior to this position, I was the new media coordinator at DAR, where I coordinated the department’s email marketing and administered the BU Alumni Association’s Facebook page. Previously, I worked in the BU College of Communication’s alumni office, where I managed gift recognition and coordinated the office’s communication pieces. I have also worked as a sports correspondent at the Boston Globe and a media relations intern for the Boston Bruins. I'm a part-time graduate student at BU, where I'm pursuing a Master of Science degree in mass communications. I'm also a 2006 graduate of BU, where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in mathematics with a minor in ancient Greek. In addition to educational fundraising, I have professional interests in data analysis and market research and hope to apply those interests to the analysis of annual giving trends to help optimize BU's solicitation strategies.
